Screening for gastrointestinal diseases
One Step Fecal Occult Blood (FOB) Test
Prevention that saves lives:
Occult bleeding in the stool is traces of blood that cannot be seen with the naked eye. In the early stages of gastrointestinal diseases, such as colon or stomach cancer, enteric ulcers, polyps, ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis and fissures, there may be no visible symptoms, only occult bleeding.
The test is intended for self-testing and home use, but it is advisable to discuss its results with a doctor.
Colon cancer is the second most common oncological disease in Bulgaria.
Its early diagnosis is now more accessible than ever.

Who is the test suitable for?
The test is recommended as a screening for early detection of colon cancer.
For people over 50 years of age, testing is recommended every year.
In case of a family history, regular testing should begin after the age of 40.
In case of suspected ulcers, polyps, inflammation, diverticula, anemia, with symptoms such as abdominal discomfort, fatigue, weight loss.
How is the test done?
The testing procedure is non-invasive and painless, in a few easy steps, described in clear, illustrated
instructions. Testing does not require a special diet and can be done at any time of the day. Collect a stool sample using the stick in the tube. Place the stick back in the tube and add 2~3 drops of the solution with the sample to the well of the test cassette. Read the result after 10 minutes.
What does a positive result mean?
A positive result means that occult bleeding has been detected. This does not mean that the test is positive for cancer or
another disease. In case of a positive result, a doctor's consultation is required for additional tests.
Interpretation of results
POSITIVE
Two colored lines appear - in the test (T) region and in the control (C) region. This indicates a positive result for hemoglobin antigen in the sample.

NEGATIVE
Only one colored line appears in the control (C) region. No colored line appears in the test (T) region. This indicates that the hemoglobin antigen concentration in the sample is 0 or below 50 ng/ml and the result is negative.

INVALID
If no line appears in the control (C) region or appears only in the test region, the result is invalid. Repeat the test with a new device. If the result is still invalid, please contact your distributor.

Important Questions
Why take this test?
Blood in the stool may be an early sign of digestive tract disorders, such as abnormal growths (polyps) or colon cancer.
What does it mean if the test result is positive?
A positive result means that occult bleeding has been detected. This does not mean that your test is positive for cancer or another disease. If the result is positive, consult a doctor for further tests and examinations to determine the exact cause and source of the hidden blood in the stool.
My test is negative. Does this mean I don't have a bowel disease?
No. You may still have a bowel condition that you should be aware of. It is recommended to get tested again after a while if you have any doubts, because if you have polyps, they may not bleed all the time. Also, the blood may not be evenly distributed in the stool sample. Early-stage colorectal polyps may not bleed.
